Monday May 27, 2013 Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day to all those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Please take a moment to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice serving our great Country.

In Honor and Remembrance of Memorial Day we will be open from 7am to 12pm.  We will do a hard stop and close right at 12pm, so please consider this when deciding when to come in and start the WOD.

You are invited to drop in any time during these hours to honor one of our country’s greatest Heroes, Medal of Honor recipient Lt. Michael Murphy (Navy SEAL) who died in action against hostile forces protecting his men, fighting for the oppressed, and defending our great country.

For time:
1 mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 mile Run

In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.

This workout was one of Mike’s favorites and he’d named it “Body Armor”. From here on it will be referred to as “Murph” in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.

Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you’ve got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.
